Monument Honoring Texas Vietnam Veterans Unveiled at Capitol

Forty-one years to the day after the last American combat troops left Vietnam, Texans who served there were honored with a 14-foot bronze monument on the grounds of the Texas Capitol.
It took nine years, nearly as long the war lasted, to make the monument a reality, but on Saturday the monument was unveiled to an emotional crowd of Vietnam veterans and their families. The bronze monument joins others on the Capitol grounds that honor the heroes of the Alamo, Confederate soldiers and Texas veterans of World War I, World War II and the Korean War.
