The Texas Capitol Vietnam Veterans Monument Living History Curriculum
Because the Best Way To Learn History is to Make It.
The Texas Capitol Vietnam Veterans Monument’s Living History Curriculum takes students through an active and engaging study of the Vietnam War, culminating in an authentic research project that invites them to create and publish personal histories of Texans who experienced the war.
Developed by teachers and veterans, the Living History curriculum connects students with Texas Vietnam veterans and families to study the war through the perspectives of those who lived it. Learning activities aligned with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills incorporate 21st Century Learning approaches to prepare students for research that profiles Texas veterans so their stories will be preserved for posterity. Quality student profiles will be published on the Living Monument that accompanies the Texas Capitol monument.
The TCVVM Living History Curriculum is free for educational use.
