I was ordered to Vietnam on June 7, 1966 at the age of 21. I was assigned to the 13 Signal Bn, !st Air Cav, The First Team.

My MOS was a radio repairman, of which I question to this day, WHY? I spent the first six months at the base camp, Camp Radcliff, An Khe, South Vietnam, Binh Dinh Province. The balance of my tour was spent with units of the 1st Cav in, I believe the Bong Son Plain, Northern Binh Dinh Province. After my tour I spent the rest of my time at Fort Hood, Texas with the 2nd Armored Division, Hell on Wheels.
