On February 23, 1969 Cpl. Robert Charles Mora of Corpus Christi, Texas had been in Vietnam for 35 days. On this day in Tay Ninh Province, South Vietnam his unit 2nd Plt, C Co, 2nd BN, 27th Infantry, 25th Infantry Division, USARV Cpl. Mora’s platoon was involved in a firefight with enemy forces and he gave his life for his country.
Cpl. Mora is remembered in the Texas Vietnam Heroes Exhibit where his Hero Tag is displayed among the 3417 Texans that made the supreme sacrifice in Vietnam. The exhibit is currently on display in the USS Lexington Museum On The Bay in Corpus Christi through March 23rd when it moves to the state Capitol in Austin.
