Striking Fear in the Enemy
So many U.S. military aviation assets were deployed in Vietnam that it would be impossible to depict them all, but several aircraft that struck fear in the enemy and hope in the American trooper are illustrated on this panel.
Air Force Fighter Pilot
Air Force fighter pilot Jim Lamar flew more than 80 combat missions before his plane took fire and he ejected at the speed of sound over North Vietnam. When he woke on the ground, he was quickly captured as the 84th American Prisoner of War. He would spend almost seven years in captivity in Hanoi.
